Questions
Order of Service Builder: common questions
What is an order of service for?
It tells guests, readers and the officiant what happens and when during the ceremony. This builder lays out each moment with start times worked out from your ceremony start, from guests arriving to the receiving line, along with readings, who reads them and your music for the entrance, the signing of the register and the exit.
How do I get it printed or to my officiant?
Press Print to print the ceremony plan or save it as a PDF, or use Copy running order to paste it into a printed design or a message. Email this draft to myself opens your email app with the plan filled in and no recipient, so you can forward it to your officiant, readers or musicians.
Is my ceremony plan saved?
Yes, in your browser's local storage on this device, so your names, date, venue, music and timings are still there when you come back. Nothing is sent to Mobile Disco Network or anyone else. Clear everything empties the plan, and clearing your browser data removes it completely.
How long does a wedding ceremony usually take?
Many civil ceremonies take around 20 to 30 minutes, and longer with several readings or music. The builder adds up the minutes for each moment so you can see the total and adjust it. Check timings with your registrar or celebrant, as they may have set wording or a fixed slot, then fit photos and drinks around it.
Tim’s tip
Give whoever is playing the ceremony music a copy of the ceremony plan with each cue marked. Tracks then start and fade at the right moment, rather than someone waving from the back of the room.
