Exclusive To Mobile Disco Network — Free With Every Package

Ooh, What's This? Say Hello To “Last One Standing”

Here's something you genuinely won't find on any other retro disco DJ's website: Last One Standing, our very own live elimination quiz game. Guests play from their own phones, every round is fully customised to your party and your guests, and it's included completely free with every retro disco package. It's new, it's exclusively ours, and it's brilliant fun.

Last One Standing retro disco party elimination quiz game shown on a smartphone
Genuinely Different You won't find this on any other retro disco DJ's site
Everyone Joins In Scan the QR code and the whole dancefloor is playing along on their own phone
Real Prizes, Real Fun Whoever outlasts the rest walks away with wine or chocolates

It's the icebreaker that finally gets your guests up, mixing and having a laugh together — and every round can be tailored to your party, from decades-themed trivia to in-jokes only your crowd will get.

✦ Please note: this game runs through your guests' own phones, so it needs a working WiFi or internet connection at your venue. Just let us know at your planning call and we'll confirm it will work on the day.

It's up to you — it's simply included at no cost. If it's not right for your party, just say the word and we'll happily leave it out.

The Gold Standard Guarantee

Book a retro night with Mobile Disco Network and these five things come as standard — no upgrades, no hidden charges.

Build Your Decade Playlist

Log in any time to sign your contract, view your invoice, and flag the must-plays you want from each decade — 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, or 90s — plus download PLI & PAT certificates for your venue.

Spread The Cost

Book your date now and pay it off gradually via Stripe, card, or direct BACS, with automated monthly instalments available rather than one lump sum.

Verified, Not Just Claimed

£10 million Public Liability Insurance, Enhanced DBS checking, and full electrical PAT certification on every piece of retro sound and lighting kit brought to your venue — see the 23 independently verified awards behind that record.

Set Up Before You Arrive

Vintage-style speaker stacks and lighting rigs take real time to set up properly. Tim typically arrives at least 2 hours before your start time, so soundchecks are long finished before your first guest walks in — allowing extra time for photo booth setup where that's part of your package.

The Set Never Stops

Tim personally spins every retro set himself. He has never missed a booking.

Retro disco DJ hire: a 1970s and 1980s disco night in Norfolk

Real disco, not a nostalgia playlist bolted onto a modern set. Tim started behind the decks in 1976 and played East Anglia venues throughout the decades he now specialises in — village halls, hotel ballrooms, working men's clubs and country house function suites across all four counties. He didn't discover these tracks on a retrospective compilation. He played them when they were new.

Every retro booking includes live QR code song requests, sent straight to Tim's console during the night, so the crowd shapes the set in real time without ever leaving the dancefloor.

Tim has been a professional DJ for 50 years — starting in 1976, right at the birth of the disco era he now specialises in.

The Feeling, Not Just The Playlist

That Split Second The Song Comes On

The opening bars hit, and suddenly you're seventeen again, on a dancefloor that no longer exists, with people you haven't seen in decades. That's what retro disco actually sells — not a playlist, a portal.

This isn't a single sound — it's the full sweep of dance music history, and the genuine range that most "retro" DJs skip past:

  • 50s: Rock & Roll, Doo-Wop
  • 60s: Beat, Soul, Motown
  • Reggae, Ska & 2-Tone
  • 70s: Glam Rock, Punk, Classic Rock
  • Funk & Disco
  • 80s: Synth-Pop & New Wave
  • 90s: Electro & House

All of it music that was designed to be danced to, first time round, and every time since.

It's the reason grandparents end up dancing with their grandkids to the exact same song. Genuine nostalgia does that — a good playlist just plays it back.

From Tim

A word from Tim Daymond

I started behind the decks in 1976, so a lot of the music on a retro night isn't nostalgia for me, I played it when it was new. When you book, tell me which decades matter most to your guests and add any must-plays through your client login. On the night, guests can send requests by QR code without leaving the dancefloor. The Last One Standing quiz comes free with every package, but if it's not right for your crowd, just say and I'll leave it out. It needs WiFi at the venue, so we'll check that at your planning call.

DJ since 1976. Running Mobile Disco Network since 2013. Norfolk County Council Trading Standards Trusted Trader. NADJ member.

Questions About Retro Disco Hire

What decades of music do you cover?

The retro packages cover the 1950s through to the 1990s, built around whichever decades matter most to you, with a custom playlist and live song requests on the night.

How far back do the playlists go — is this genuinely 1950s music?

Yes, genuinely. The playlist spans real 1950s and 60s classics through to 70s, 80s, and 90s favourites — not a modern chart set with a handful of throwback tracks mixed in.
