Design your booklet

Work down the steps on the left — the booklet updates live on the right. Use the arrows under the preview to turn the pages.

1 Your details

If you have already used our Order of Service Builder on this device, this fills in everything for you.

Or paste the text you copied from the builder

2 The order of service

Put a moment on each line, with detail after a dash (Reading - read by Emma) and an optional time after a bar (Processional - Canon in D | 1pm). A line ending with a colon (The Ceremony:) starts a new heading.

Extra pages used by the 8-page booklet

Leave a box empty and that page becomes a ruled “Notes” page for guests to write on.

Questions

Order of Service Booklet Maker: common questions

What ceremonies can I make a booklet for?

As well as wedding ceremonies, the booklet can be set up for civil partnerships, wedding blessings, naming ceremonies, christenings, and memorial or funeral services, or something else of your choosing. The 4-page version covers the cover, welcome, running order and thank you. The 8-page version adds a second order page, the people taking part and what happens next.

How do I print and fold the booklet at home?

Download the print-ready booklet PDF and print at Actual size / 100%, two-sided, flipping on the short edge, ideally on 120 to 170 gsm paper. Fold each sheet in half. For 8 pages, nest the second sheet inside the first and staple along the fold. For a print shop, use the page-by-page PDF.

Is my ceremony information saved or uploaded?

The booklet is built in your browser and nothing is uploaded. The page does not save what you type here. If you press Bring in my Order of Service Builder text, it reads text the builder previously stored in this browser on this device, and only that. Nothing is sent to Mobile Disco Network.

What should go in a wedding order of service?

Most include the entrance of the wedding party, the welcome, any readings with the reader's name, the vows and rings, the signing of the register and the exit. Adding song titles for the entrance, signing and exit helps guests follow along. Check the wording of any legal parts with your registrar or officiant.

Tim’s tip

Share the final running order with whoever is playing the ceremony music, marking exactly when each piece should start and stop, so nothing relies on a nod across the room.
