Questions
Wedding Colour Palette Generator: common questions
How does the palette generator work?
You choose a starting colour from the colour wheel or a list of named wedding colours. The tool builds matching palettes in three moods, Soft & Romantic, Bold & Elegant and Rustic Barn, and shows how they might look on invitations, flowers, dresses and dancefloor uplighting, with a note on which shades uplighting can and cannot reproduce.
How can I share my palette with suppliers?
Copy my palette puts the colours on your clipboard to paste into a message to your florist, stationer or venue. Print / Save as PDF gives you a copy to take to appointments. Send this to Tim opens your email app with a draft about matching uplighting, which you can edit or discard.
Does the tool save or send my colour choices?
No. Your colour choices are worked out in your browser and are not saved between visits or sent anywhere automatically. The only way anything leaves the page is if you copy it yourself or choose Send this to Tim, which opens a draft in your own email app for you to send if you wish.
Why does uplighting not always match my colours?
Lighting adds colour rather than painting it, so soft pastels, browns, greys and very dark shades are hard to reproduce exactly, while strong jewel tones tend to show well. The tool notes which shades are realistic. If uplighting matters to you, ask your DJ or lighting supplier to show you the colour before the day.
Tim’s tip
Take a fabric swatch or printed card to supplier meetings rather than relying on a phone screen, as colours shift a lot between screens, paper and lighting.
