Questions
First Dance Finder: common questions
What does the quiz ask about?
There are five questions: how you want the dance to feel, which era of music you love, the pace that suits you, how you feel about dancing in front of everyone, and what happens when the song ends. Your answers are matched to five first dance songs, each with a short tip on making it work on the night.
Can I save or share my first dance picks?
Yes. Copy my picks puts the list on your clipboard so you can paste it into a message or note. Share my pick creates an image of your top song, which opens your phone's share menu where supported or downloads as a picture. Take the quiz again resets your answers if you want a fresh set.
What happens to my answers and contact details?
Your quiz answers are processed in your browser and are not saved between visits. The share image is made on your device. The optional check-my-date form asks for your names, email, wedding date and venue, and you must tick the consent box before sending. The page says your details are never shared or sold.
How long should a first dance song be?
Many full-length songs run longer than couples expect to be on the floor alone, especially if neither of you dances often. A common approach is to use a shorter edit, or to invite guests to join you part-way through. Decide which before the day so your DJ knows exactly when to bring everyone in.
Tim’s tip
Have a practice dance at home to the exact version you have chosen, so the intro, tempo and ending hold no surprises on the night.
