Questions

Photo Group Shot List Builder: common questions

Who is the shot list builder for?

It is for couples planning formal group photos at a wedding. You add family members and the wedding party with their roles, such as Bride's Mother or Groomsman, and the tool suggests the usual combinations. You can add your own shots for groups it does not cover, like old school friends or work colleagues.

How do I share the list with my photographer?

Copy list puts the whole list on your clipboard to paste into a message. Print gives you a paper copy for the day. Email this draft to myself opens your email app with the list filled in, ready for you to send on to your photographer or the person rounding everyone up.

Is my guest list saved, and who can see it?

Your names and shots are saved in this browser's local storage, so they are still there when you come back on the same device. They are not sent to Mobile Disco Network or anyone else. Clear everything removes them. The email option only opens your own email app with a draft you choose whether to send.

How long should I allow for group photos?

The page suggests that typical group shots take 2 to 4 minutes each once everyone is rounded up, and shows a running total as you add shots. Grouping shots that share people saves time. Give the list to someone who knows both families, so they can gather each group before it is called.

Tim’s tip

Keep the formal group list short and do it straight after the ceremony while everyone is still together. Guests drift off once the bar opens.
