A Norwich DJ you can come and see first
Most people booking DJ hire in Norwich are trusting someone they’ve never met with one of the biggest nights of their year. So I make it easy to check me out. I run Mobile Disco Network as a sole trader, which means the person you speak to, the person who plans your music and the person who turns up on the night are all me.
Norwich is a city I know well. This winter is my sixth Christmas season as the resident DJ for the Bunkers Bar party nights at Dunston Hall (opens in a new tab), and I’m back on the water with Broads Tours in Wroxham for their Boogie on the Broads cruises (opens in a new tab) in 2027. Both are open to the public, so you can come along, see how I read a room and then decide. See my public events.
“Tim has been our resident DJ for the past 6 Christmas seasons and we honestly couldn’t imagine the festive period without him. Every single year he brings incredible energy, professionalism, and the perfect atmosphere to every event.”

Planning DJ hire at a Norwich venue: what I check for you
A lot of Norwich’s best party venues are historic buildings in a busy city centre. That’s a big part of their charm, and it also means a few things need sorting before the night. I take care of them, but it helps to know what to ask when you book the venue.
Sound limits in older buildings
Listed buildings and rooms with neighbours close by often have a sound limiter or a maximum volume. I ask the venue for its limit before the day and set up so the music stays lively without tripping it.
Loading and parking
City-centre venues around the cathedral and Tombland can have tight access and set times for unloading. I find out where and when I can unload, so set-up doesn’t clash with your drinks reception or dinner.
Finish times
Many venues have a firm music curfew. Knowing it early means I can plan the last hour properly, so the night builds to a proper finale rather than stopping mid-song.
Venue paperwork
Hotels and historic venues usually want proof of insurance and PAT testing before a supplier sets foot inside. My certificates are ready to send, and you can download them yourself from your booking portal.
Booking DJ hire in Norwich: from first call to last song
Booking a DJ shouldn’t feel like a gamble. Here’s exactly what happens after you book me for a wedding or party in Norwich.
1. Check the date
Use the availability calendar on this page or call me. If your date is free, you get a written quote for your hours and venue, with nothing added later.
2. Secure it
A 45% deposit holds your date, and the rest can be spread with an interest-free payment plan. Your date is confirmed in writing.
3. Plan the music
Your online booking portal has a make-your-own playlist, with must-plays and a Do-Not-Play list. Add songs whenever they come to you.
4. I talk to your venue
Everything in the checklist above, sorted directly with your venue’s events team, so it’s one less job for you.
5. The night itself
I arrive in good time, set up before your guests need the room and read the crowd all night. Guests can send requests by QR code, and my software cuts swearing out of tracks for family parties.
6. Afterwards
If you enjoyed the night, a review helps other Norwich couples and party hosts find me. You can leave one on Google or record a short video review.

A word from Tim Daymond
Norwich has been good to me. Six Christmas seasons at Dunston Hall have taught me how a Norwich crowd likes a night to build, from the first drinks to the last song. If you're planning something in the city, come and see me at one of the public nights, then give me a ring and we'll talk through your plans.

DJ hire in Norwich: your questions
Booking & prices
How much does DJ hire in Norwich cost?
From £225 for a children’s party, £450 for a birthday or anniversary and £525 for a wedding, rising to £1,950 for the whole day. Your written quote covers your date, hours and venue, with no hidden fees.
How far ahead should I book?
As soon as you have a date and a venue. Christmas party season and summer Saturdays go first, and a date is only held once the deposit is paid, so it’s worth checking the calendar early.
Can I add a photo booth like the one at Dunston Hall?
Yes, that’s the Selfie Pod. It’s from £375 on its own, and cheaper when added to a DJ package. Guests get digital photos, videos, GIFs and boomerangs straight to their phones.
Do you do children’s parties and school discos in Norwich?
Yes, from £225. I’m enhanced DBS checked, and games are woven into the music for younger children.
Your venue & the night
My venue isn’t on your list. Is that a problem?
Not at all. I play village halls, social clubs, marquees and hotels all over Norfolk. When a venue is new to me, I go through access, power, any sound limit and the finish time with the events team before the day.
Can I see you DJ before I book?
Yes. Besides the Dunston Hall party nights and the Broads Tours cruises, the Watton Christmas Lights Switch-On on Sunday 29 November 2026 is free to attend, from 1pm to 4pm on Watton High Street. Tickets for Dunston Hall and Broads Tours are sold by those venues.
Will it really be you at my Norwich party?
Yes. I play every booking myself and I’ve never missed one. I don’t use agency DJs.
Can you make the night easier for guests with sensory needs?
Yes. Sensory-Friendly Disco Mode costs nothing extra: fewer strobe and flash effects, a warning before any visual effect and quieter areas of the room. I’ve run discos at Hellesdon Hospital, so I know how much it matters. Accessible discos.
