Questions
Late-Night Taxi & Minibus Planner: common questions
What does the taxi and minibus planner work out?
From the number of guests who need a lift and your preferred vehicles, it suggests a fleet of taxis, 16-seat minibuses or coaches and shows the seats needed against the seats provided. It also gives a book-by guide, which is longer for rural venues and larger fleets, and a timeline showing how the last song lines up with pickups.
How do I share the plan with my venue and drivers?
Use Print to make a copy to pin up or hand to the venue, or Copy plan to paste it into a message. Email this draft to myself opens your email app with the plan filled in and no recipient, so you can send it on. The firms you add are listed on the plan with their phone numbers.
Does the planner keep my details?
Only the taxi and minibus firms you add are saved, in your browser's local storage on this device, so you do not have to type them in again. Guest numbers, times and vehicle choices are not saved. Nothing is sent to Mobile Disco Network or to the taxi firms; you contact them yourself.
Why book earlier for a rural venue?
Rural firms often cover a wide area with only a few vehicles, and they get booked up quickly for Friday and Saturday nights. Ticking the rural box moves the book-by advice earlier. It is also worth asking the venue which firms they recommend and whether a firm will hold a firm pickup time rather than taking calls on the night.
Tim’s tip
Tell your DJ the first pickup time as well as the finish time. The last song can then be timed so guests are not walking out to wait in the car park, or missing the end to catch a minibus.
