Questions
Best Wedding Date Finder: common questions
Who is the wedding date finder for?
It is for couples who have a rough season in mind but have not fixed a date. Pick a month and you get every date in it, with the day of the week, whether it falls Monday to Thursday, Friday or Sunday, or Saturday, and flags for bank holidays, likely school holidays and well-known clash days such as Valentine's Day, Halloween or Mother's Day.
How accurate are the school holiday dates?
Bank holidays are England and Wales dates worked out from the official rules, so they are reliable for any year shown. School holidays differ between local authorities, so the weeks flagged are a general approximation only. Before you book, check the term dates published by your own council or the school your guests' children attend.
Is anything I choose saved or sent anywhere?
No. The month and year you pick are used inside your browser to build the guide, and nothing is saved or sent to a server. Copy puts the guide on your clipboard, and Print opens your browser's print window. Send this to Tim opens a pre-written draft in your own email app, and nothing goes anywhere unless you send it yourself.
Why are midweek weddings usually cheaper?
Saturdays are the most requested day for venues and suppliers, so they are usually priced highest. Fridays and Sundays tend to be better value, and Monday to Thursday is normally the cheapest. A midweek date can make a real difference to venue hire, but think about guests who need time off work and anyone travelling a long way.
Tim’s tip
Before you fall for a date, check it with your venue and your must-have suppliers on the same day. A date only works if the people you most want are free for it.
