A local DJ for Peterborough

My base is in Sutton Bridge, on the Lincolnshire side of the Fens, which makes Peterborough the closest city I work in. For you, that means a DJ who isn’t driving half the day to reach your venue, who can arrive in good time to set up quietly before your guests do, and who knows the villages and market towns around the city.

I’ve been part of the Fenland entertainment scene for a long time. The Fenland Citizen covered my 50-year milestone and Prestige Award in 2026, and for five years running I supplied the PA and lighting for the Outwell Fashion Shows, an annual charity fundraiser, for Robert Goddard of Wisbech. Over the years I’ve played everything from village halls and social clubs to hotel ballrooms and marquees.

Weddings for every family in Peterborough

Peterborough is home to families from all over the world, and many weddings here bring two cultures together. That’s something I’ve done many times.

I’ve DJ’d weddings for couples of Polish, Lithuanian, Latvian, Romanian, Ukrainian, Indian, Italian, American and Russian-English heritage, among others. The approach is the same each time: we talk through the songs that matter to both families, the traditions you want to mark, and anything that should be played at a particular moment.

Planning the rest of the day? The free Wedding Toolbox has everything from a seating plan builder to a wedding day timeline. And for a laugh between courses, Last One Standing, the elimination quiz your guests play on their phones, is free with my wedding packages.

Planning DJ hire in Peterborough: what I check for you

Peterborough’s venues range from city hotels to golf clubs, social clubs, village halls and farm marquees out in the Fens. Each has its own practical details, and I sort them out before the day.

Village halls and clubs

Halls can have limited sockets, early finish times and a key-holder who wants the building back by a set hour. I check the power, the access time and the finish before I arrive.

Marquees and farm venues

Out in the Fens, power usually comes from a generator, and the distance from it matters. I ask about supply and cable runs early so nothing is left to chance on the night.

Hotels and golf clubs

These usually ask suppliers for insurance and PAT certificates, and many have a sound limiter or a curfew. My paperwork is ready to send, and I plan the last hour around your finish time.

Timings on the day

Tell me when the meal, the speeches and the first dance are planned, and I’ll set up around them, so the music is ready the moment the room is.

Planning the music for your Peterborough party

The music is the part of DJ hire in Peterborough that you should feel in control of. Here’s how we plan it together.

Your must-plays

Add the songs that have to be heard to the make-your-own playlist in your booking portal: the first dance, the family favourites, the song that gets your nan up every time. Songs in any language are welcome.

Your Do-Not-Play list

Just as important. If a song brings back the wrong memories, or you’ve heard it at every party this year, add it and it won’t be played.

Every decade covered

Party tracks from the 1950s to today, so grandparents, parents and teenagers all get their moment. I read the floor and move between them as the night goes on.

Requests on the night

Guests scan a QR code and send their requests straight to me, so nobody has to queue at the decks and nobody’s choice gets lost.

Family friendly

My DJ software cuts swearing out of the tracks themselves, not just the requests, which makes a real difference at family parties and children’s discos.

The big moments

Grand entrance, cake cutting, first dance, a surprise announcement: tell me when they happen and I’ll have the right song ready at the right moment.

DJ hire in Peterborough: your questions

Booking & prices

How much does DJ hire in Peterborough cost?

From £225 for a children’s party or school disco, £450 for a birthday or anniversary and £525 for a wedding, rising to £1,950 for the whole day. Your written quote covers your date, hours and venue.

How does payment work?

A 45% deposit holds your Peterborough date. After that you can pay the balance in one go or in interest-free monthly instalments, and it’s all confirmed in writing.

When should I book for a Peterborough wedding or party?

Once you have the date and venue. Summer Saturdays and December go first, and a date is only reserved once the deposit is in.

Is a photo booth worth adding?

For weddings and big birthdays, guests love it. The Selfie Pod is £375 on its own, less as part of a DJ bundle, and everyone gets their digital photos and GIFs on their phone the same night.

Your venue & the night

Can you cover a Peterborough event at short notice?

Sometimes. Peterborough is close to my base, so if your DJ has let you down I’ll help if my diary allows. Call 07796 565918 straight away. Emergency DJ hire.

Do you DJ school proms in Peterborough?

Yes. The VIP Prom Showstopper is 4 hours from £550, and the Prom Night package with the photo booth is from £950. I’m enhanced DBS checked.

Could someone else turn up instead of you?

It’s always been me. I play every booking myself and I’ve never missed one.

Can the lights and volume suit guests who are sensitive to flashing lights or noise?

Yes. Switch on Sensory-Friendly Disco Mode, free of charge, and I reduce strobe and flash effects, give a warning before visual effects and keep quieter areas in the room. Accessible discos.
