Meet Tim
A Personal Introduction
Fetes and festivals bring a different crowd than a private party: families, stallholders and the whole community, often across a long outdoor afternoon. Watch a short video from Tim about how he approaches these events. He covers everything from the early morning setup to the last announcement of the day.
Every booking is handled personally. You speak to the person who'll actually be there on the day, not a call centre or an agency. See why event organisers choose to book directly, backed by 23 independently verified awards.

Peace of Mind Built-In
The Gold Standard Guarantee
Book a fete, festival or outdoor event with Mobile Disco Network and these five things come as standard. No upgrades, no hidden charges.
Weather Sorted, Not Guessed At
High-quality, outdoor-suitable kit as standard — no last-minute scramble if the forecast changes on the day.
Spread The Cost
Pay via card, BACS, or automated monthly instalments through Stripe. That's handy for committees and organisers working to a fixed budget.
Fully Insured & DBS Checked
£10 million Public Liability Insurance, Enhanced DBS checking and full electrical PAT certification. Exactly what a parish council or event organiser needs on file.
Set Up Well Before Gates Open
Fully tested and ready before the public arrive, so there's no last-minute activity once stallholders and visitors are on site.
The Event Goes Ahead Regardless
Tim personally runs every fete and festival himself. He has never missed a booking. Your event date is never at risk.
Why Outdoor Events Need A Specialist
A village fete, summer festival or any outdoor event brings different challenges to an indoor party. It shows the moment the wrong DJ turns up unprepared.
Weather-Ready Equipment
High-quality, outdoor-suitable speakers and cable runs. Please arrange a gazebo or cover for the DJ setup as part of your planning. We'll confirm exactly what's needed when you book.
Generator & Power Flexibility
Happy running from a generator, a marquee spur, or mains power — sorted in advance, not discovered on the day.
A Playlist For Every Age On The Field
Fetes and festivals bring families, not a single age group. The music works for grandparents and toddlers on the same afternoon.
Noise Limits & Local Agreements
Comfortable working within council or parish noise agreements, so nobody's fielding a complaint call on Monday morning.
Every Kind Of Community Event
Fetes and festivals aren't all the same shape. Here's a cross-section of the outdoor events we've provided sound and hosting for. Pick a category to see photos. Planning a town Christmas light switch-on? See the full Themed & Christmas Party DJ Hire package too.
"Tim has been a fantastic asset to our community events for over a decade, providing top-class entertainment which has been enjoyed by everyone. We very much look forward to Tim entertaining us once more at our next event."

Planning Sound and Announcements for an Outdoor Community Event
Good sound at a fete is as much about planning the field and timetable as the music. Sort these details out with your committee before the day.
Choosing where the DJ sets up
Place the DJ near the main arena or wherever announcements matter most. Point the speakers into the site rather than at neighbouring houses. Firm, level ground matters, and so does vehicle access for unloading early in the morning. Keep the setup away from walkways so cables can be run safely and covered. Keep it away from catering units with their own noisy generators, too. Mark the spot on your site plan and share it with stallholders. Then nobody pitches a gazebo in front of the speakers before the gates open.
Writing a running order for announcements
Draw up a simple timetable of everything that needs announcing. That means the official opening, dog show classes, fancy dress judging, raffle draws, children's races and the closing thank-yous. Note who presents each item and where it takes place. Write down sponsors, judges and winners clearly, with tricky pronunciations spelled out. Agree a single point of contact on the day for late changes, such as a delayed class or lost property. That stops several people queuing at the DJ table.
Lost children and safety messages
Decide in advance how lost children will be handled, where the meeting point is, and exactly what will be announced. Many organisers prefer not to broadcast a child's full name or description. Instead, they ask a parent to come to a named point. Agree short, calm wording for any safety announcement, such as clearing an area for a vehicle or a sudden change in the weather. Make sure first aiders and stewards know the PA can reach them quickly.
Permissions and neighbours
Check early with your district council whether your event needs a licence or Temporary Event Notice. It matters most if you sell alcohol or expect large numbers. Confirm any noise conditions set by the parish or landowner. A short note through the doors of nearby homes, with the date, finishing time and a contact number, goes a long way. Think about guests who find loud music difficult, too. A quieter area away from the arena gives families with young children or sensory needs somewhere to take a break.
From Tim
A word from Tim Daymond
I've been a DJ since 1976, and an outdoor fete is a very different job from a function room. Before the day, I'll want to know where you'd like me on the field. I'll ask whether I'm running from a generator, a marquee spur or mains. And I'll need your list of announcements: raffle draws, fancy dress judging and stallholder call-outs. Please arrange a gazebo or cover for my setup; I'll confirm exactly what's needed when you book. I aim to be set up and tested before the public arrive. I keep the volume within whatever noise agreement your parish or council has in place.

Questions About Fetes & Festivals DJ Hire
Prefer to hear it from the people who booked us? Read real reviews from community events.
What happens if it rains?
All equipment is high-quality and suited to outdoor use. You or the event organiser need to arrange a gazebo or other cover for the DJ setup. We'll tell you exactly what's needed when you book. If your event moves to a marquee or indoor backup on the day, the same booking simply moves with it.
Do you need mains power, or can you run from a generator?
Either works. If the site runs on a generator, tell us its output in advance so we can confirm the setup draws safely within it. It's a five-minute conversation, not a complication.
