A Career Built On Awards Judged By Others
A record of regional and national business awards, judged by others, across 50 years in entertainment. It shows real, lasting care for the craft, not a one-off prize chased for sales.

Official Endorsements
"The panel was overwhelmingly impressed by Mobile Disco Network's extraordinary track record. A remarkable 50-year career is a testament to an unmatched level of professional dedication, reliability, and respect for the client experience. Therefore the Prestige Awards Team are more than happy to name Mobile Disco Network as our Central England, Best Entertainment Company of the Year!"
"Mobile Disco Network has earned recognition from ThreeBestRated® through its rigorous 50-Point Inspection, which evaluates reviews, business history, honesty, customer satisfaction, and service quality. As a trusted and award-winning business with five decades of experience, Mobile Disco Network's success reflects a longstanding commitment to quality, reliability, and creating memorable event experiences."
"It's been a pleasure to have Tim and his Mobile Disco Network onboard Norfolk Trusted Trader. It shows that the original scheme has moved beyond home improvements and now many industries put themselves forward to complete a rigorous vetting process, that if successful allows them to call themselves Trading Standards Approved. This is good news for the consumer, as well as good news for local businesses who are promoted as Trusted Traders."

Award Questions
How do I know these awards are genuine, and not pay-to-enter?
Every award on this page links to the website of the body that gave it. You can check it yourself rather than take our word for it. Real trade awards like CorporateLiveWire, Prestige and ThreeBestRated use outside judging panels, not a fee-to-win entry.
Why do some awards have photos or badges, and others don't?
Where a real badge, certificate or photo exists, it's shown here. The T.V.D.J.A. National Award dates back to 1983, before badges like this were kept or scanned. The King's Lynn Town Mayor's Award was a 4th-place finish rather than a win, so no badge was given. Both are listed plainly as text, not dressed up to look grander.
Are these awards specific to DJ work, or general business awards?
Both. Some, like the T.V.D.J.A. National Award and Bridebook, are just for DJ and wedding work. Others, like the Prestige Awards and CorporateLiveWire, are wider business awards. Mobile Disco Network won those against all kinds of firms, not only DJs.
Which of these awards means the most to Tim personally?
The Ixion Awards, handed out at the Houses of Parliament, Westminster. Tim was put forward by his local Jobcentre. It's praise that came from the ground up, not something he applied for himself.
How to Check a DJ's Credentials for Yourself
Awards and memberships are only useful if you can check them. Whichever DJ you are thinking of, a few quick checks tell you far more than a logo on a website.
Search the scheme's own directory
Trading Standards trusted trader schemes and trade bodies publish lists of current members you can search. Don't rely only on a link sent by the business. Search the scheme's own website by business name or member ID. Check that the trading name, area and type of service match the business you are talking to. A listing that has lapsed or names a different trade is worth asking about. Membership of a local chamber of trade can usually be checked the same way.
Read the detail behind each badge
An award badge tells you little until you know the year, the category and the region it covers. Check whether the business won, was shortlisted or just appeared in a list. Ask whether an outside panel judged it. Recent awards show how a business is doing now, while awards won over many years show it keeps it up. If a claim doesn't link anywhere, ask where you can see it checked. A business that is proud of its record will be happy to show you.
Ask to see the working paperwork
Awards reflect past work, but other papers matter on the day. You need public liability insurance and PAT testing for electrical kit. For events with children or adults at risk, you also need a DBS check. Many venues ask for these before a supplier can set up. Ask for copies early and check that the names and expiry dates are up to date. Knowing where your DJ keeps these papers saves a last-minute rush with the venue manager.
Compare reviews from more than one source
Reviews on outside sites such as Google, Bark and Facebook give a wider picture than reviews picked for a website. Look at how long a business has been getting reviews and whether they describe events like yours. See how the business replies when something has gone less well. A steady flow of detailed reviews over several years usually tells you more than a burst of them. Reviews from venues and organisers who book again and again are very useful.
From Tim
A word from Tim Daymond
I'd rather you checked these awards than took my word for them, so each one links back to whoever issued it. The one that means most to me is the Ixion Award at the Houses of Parliament. My local Jobcentre put me forward; I didn't apply. The memberships matter to me too. I've been with the Wayland Chamber of Trade since 1983, and I'm a Norfolk Trading Standards Trusted Trader, ID 0000457. None of it replaces a great night, but it should show you I'll turn up and do the job properly.
DJ since 1976. Running Mobile Disco Network since 2013. Norfolk County Council Trading Standards Trusted Trader. NADJ member.
