Looking for DJ hire in Watton? I’m Tim Daymond, known as Tinsel Tim, a DJ since 1976. Watton’s DJ for more than 40 years
Few places know me better than Watton. I joined the Wayland Chamber of Trade (opens in a new tab) in 1983, and for the last 12 years I’ve been the DJ host for the Watton Christmas Light Festival, providing the PA and music on the High Street. That support is written into the Watton Town Council minutes (opens in a new tab, PDF), so it’s a matter of public record, not just my word.
In September 2026 the Chamber’s own newsletter featured my new Sensory-Friendly Disco Mode, which makes a disco easier for guests who find bright, flashing lights or loud music hard. Anyone booking DJ hire in Watton gets the same person the town already knows: me, from the first call to the last song.
“Fantastic night at Ashill!! Great disco, great music and great company!! Thanks Tim, you’re a legend!”

Watton venues and village halls I’ve DJ’d at
Most parties around Watton happen in a pub, a sports club or a village hall, and I’ve played in a lot of them. In Watton itself:
- The Crown, Watton
- The Kings Head, Watton
- Watton Sports Centre
- Broom Hall, Saham Toney, for weddings
- Saham Toney Community Centre
- Carbrooke Village Hall
- Hingham Village Hall
- Ashill, for private parties
And the village and town halls in Griston, Thompson, Merton, Ovington, Caston, Rocklands, Great Ellingham, Scoulton, Shipdham, Holme Hale, Necton, Great Cressingham, Little Cressingham, Stow Bedon, Swaffham and Attleborough. If your venue is round here, the chances are I’ve set up in it before.
Small hall, big night: getting a village hall party right
The halls in the Wayland villages are friendly, affordable and often the heart of the community. They can also be small, close to houses and a few miles down a dark lane. Here’s what I plan for when you book DJ hire in Watton for a hall party.
Making a small room feel full
Put tables around the edges and leave the middle clear, and a 60-guest hall feels like a packed club. Tell me the layout you’re thinking of and I’ll suggest where the decks and the dancefloor should go.
Neighbours next door
Many village halls sit right next to houses. I keep the bass under control and the finish time on the dot, so the hall stays happy to take your booking next year.
Getting guests there
Rural halls can be hard to find after dark. Put the postcode and a landmark on the invitation, and book taxis before the night rather than at closing time.
December books up first
Village halls and DJs both go quickly in the weeks before Christmas. If you’re planning a festive party, book the hall and check my date as early as you can.
Christmas in Watton
For 12 years the start of Christmas in Watton has come with my music on the High Street. Here’s how it works, and how to book a festive night of your own.
The switch-on
This year’s Christmas Lights Switch-On is on Sunday 29 November 2026, from 1pm to 4pm on Watton High Street. It’s free and open to everyone. My public events.
What I do on the day
I host the afternoon as DJ, run the PA, play the music and tie in the live acts and festivities, so the High Street has a proper party feel from start to finish.
Backed by the town
Watton Town Council records the festival support in its minutes, and the Town Mayor has praised the entertainment as “top class”. It’s the kind of reference you can check for yourself.
Your own Christmas party
Works do’s, club nights and family parties in the pubs and halls around Watton, from a sit-down dinner to a full disco. Christmas party DJ hire.
Tim at work
Real nights and real guests, from the Christmas lights on the High Street to village hall birthdays.

DJ hire in Watton: your questions
Booking & prices
How much is DJ hire in Watton?
Children’s discos are from £225, birthdays, anniversaries and Boogie Bingo from £450, and weddings from £525, with full ceremony-to-evening cover at £1,950. You get a written quote for your date, hours and hall.
Can I pay in stages?
Yes. A 45% deposit holds your date, and the rest can be split into interest-free monthly payments.
Is the Selfie Pod worth it for a village hall party?
If there’s a spare corner, yes. It’s £375 on its own or less in a bundle, and guests get every photo and GIF on their phones the same night, which they love sharing the next morning.
Do you do Boogie Bingo in Watton’s pubs?
Yes, from £450: musical bingo with prizes, then a full disco. One pub that booked its first night said they’d already booked me back.
Your venue & the night
Will you fit in a small village hall?
Yes. I’ve set up in halls all over Wayland, from Carbrooke to Stow Bedon. The kit scales to the room, and I’ll suggest a layout that leaves space to dance.
Is the Watton switch-on free to come and watch?
Yes. It’s free, out on Watton High Street, and there are no tickets to buy: just turn up. This year’s date and times are in the Christmas section above.
And it’s definitely you on the night?
Definitely. I play every booking myself and I’ve never missed one.
Can the disco suit guests with sensory needs?
Yes. Sensory-Friendly Disco Mode, the feature the Wayland Chamber newsletter covered, is free: fewer strobes and flashes, a warning before visual effects, and quieter areas of the room.
