What's your venue type?
This changes what needs covering and what to keep on standby.
Rain plan checklist
Move inside if rain is forecast
Do this as soon as rain looks likely — don't wait for the first drops.
Have on standby, just in case
Keep these ready even if the forecast looks clear.
Day-of timeline
Sound equipment and rain don't mix
Speakers, decks and lighting rigs need to stay dry and on covered, level ground — so if there's any chance of an outdoor ceremony or speeches being rained off, let your DJ know the backup plan in advance. It only takes a quick message to make sure the setup can move with you.

Questions
Rain Plan Checklist: common questions
Who is the rain plan checklist for?
It is for couples with any outdoor element to their wedding: a garden ceremony, a marquee or tipi, or a barn with open sides. Each venue type gets its own list of what to move inside, what to keep on standby and a day-of timeline, and the advice also changes depending on whether you already have a covered backup space booked.
How do I share the rain plan with my wedding party?
Use Copy my checklist to paste it into a group message or email, or Print it for whoever is coordinating on the day. Giving it to an usher, venue coordinator or a reliable friend means you are not the one moving the guest book and umbrellas when the clouds arrive.
Does the checklist save my answers or ticks?
No. Your venue choice and ticks are held only while the page is open. Nothing is saved to your browser storage and nothing is sent to Mobile Disco Network or any server, so reloading the page starts you again. Copy or print the checklist if you want to keep your progress.
When should we decide whether to move indoors?
Agree a decision time with your venue in advance, often the morning of the wedding or a set number of hours before the ceremony. Waiting for the first drops is too late, because chairs, flowers and sound equipment all take time to move. Tell your suppliers about the backup plan beforehand so they can set up for either option.
Tim’s tip
Tell your DJ about the backup plan well before the day. Speakers, decks and lighting need dry, level, covered ground, so knowing where the party will move to makes the change much quicker.
