Birthdays, Anniversaries & Parties: your questions
What kinds of parties do you DJ?
Milestone birthdays from 18th to 100th, wedding anniversaries, retro and decades nights, Christmas and work parties, engagement parties, reunions and family get-togethers.
Tim builds the music around your guests' ages and favourite decades.
How long does a party booking last?
Most birthday and anniversary packages run for 5 hours, which suits a typical evening party.
If you'd like longer, extra hours can be added before the day through your client portal.
Do you need access to the venue before the party?
Yes.
Tim normally arrives at least two hours before the start time to set up and do a sound check. Please check your venue can open up for him then, and let him know about any access or parking details.
Will Tim Daymond personally DJ at our party?
Yes, of course!
How far in advance should we book a birthday or anniversary DJ?
As early as you can, especially for a Friday or Saturday night.
What music works best for a mixed-age crowd at a milestone birthday?
This is one of the things I do best.
Can you help with a surprise party?
Yes.
Do you provide a microphone for speeches or toasts?
Can the party be held in a village hall or private home rather than a venue?
Yes.
What decades of music do you cover?
The retro packages cover the 1950s through to the 1990s, built around whichever decades matter most to you, with a custom playlist and live song requests on the night.
Can I add a photo booth or Boogie Bingo?
How far back do the playlists go — is this genuinely 1950s music?
Yes, genuinely.
Do you have any props or lighting to match the era?
The rig includes era-appropriate lighting styles to match the decade you choose, and props can be discussed when you book — just let Tim know which decade you're focusing on.
Is Retro Disco suitable for a wedding reception, or just parties?
Both.
Will Tim Daymond personally DJ at our themed party?
Yes, of course!
Can we request our own Christmas, Halloween, St Patrick's Day or New Year's Eve playlist?
Definitely.
Do you do corporate Christmas parties?
Yes.
Can we personalise the playlist for our chosen occasion?
Completely up to you.
Do you provide snow or bubble effects for a festive party?
Yes, snow and bubble effects can be added through your online client portal, venue permitting.
How far ahead should we book for the Christmas party season?
December weekends in particular book up very quickly, often months in advance.
