Tim’s tip: Ask any DJ to show you their insurance and PAT certificates before you pay a deposit. A professional will be happy to, and your venue will need them anyway.

Safety, Insurance & Trust: your questions

  • How does the Trusted Trader scheme protect me?

To join the Norfolk County Council Trusted Trader scheme, Tim had a face-to-face interview, a Companies House director check and an insurance check.

Members follow a code of practice covering honest advertising, clear pricing and professional behaviour. Reviews come from real customers, and if a problem can't be sorted out directly, the scheme offers independent help to resolve it.

  • Can I check Tim's Trusted Trader status myself?

    Yes.

Search for Mobile Disco Network on the Norfolk Trusted Trader website, member number 0000457. You'll see the listing and reviews from real customers there.

  • What if I need to make a complaint?

Please contact Tim first by phone or email.

He aims to acknowledge any complaint within two working days and will work to put things right. If you can't agree, the Trusted Trader scheme offers independent mediation, and you can also raise a complaint with the NADJ about its code of conduct.

  • Are you insured, vetted, and DBS checked?

    Yes, across the board.

Mobile Disco Network carries comprehensive £10 million Public Liability Insurance (PLI), and all equipment undergoes annual Portable Appliance Testing (PAT). Tim holds an Enhanced DBS check, is Norfolk's only Trading Standards Approved DJ, and works under a formal written contract for every booking.

  • How do I contact Norfolk's only Trading Standards Approved DJ?

  • Why does Chamber of Trade membership matter?

Tim has been a member of Wayland Chamber of Trade since 1983.

It shows more than 40 years as part of the local business community, with a reputation built in the towns he plays in.

  • Do memberships guarantee a great night?

No membership can promise a great night on its own.

What they do prove is that Tim is insured and vetted, follows written codes of practice, and that independent help is there if something goes wrong. Reviews from real clients, and talking to Tim, tell you the rest.

  • Does an accredited DJ cost more?

    No.

There's no extra charge for Tim's accreditations. You pay the package price shown on the booking page, with no hidden fees.

  • What if Tim were ever ill?

In all his years behind the decks, Tim has never missed a booking.

Your contract sets out what would happen in the unlikely event he couldn't attend, so you're protected either way.

  • What's the difference between booking you directly and going through an agency?

When you book directly with me, you know exactly who's performing at your event — there's no uncertainty about which DJ an agency might send.

You deal with me personally from your first enquiry through to the last song on the night.

  • Why Such Rigorous Standards?

With online scams and last-minute cancellations a real problem in the events industry, Tim built these safeguards so you're not just hoping for the best.

  • Has Tim ever missed a booking?

Anyone can put "professional" in their business name.
