Room and guest details
Room dimensions are usually on the venue's booking sheet, or ask the venue directly — most will know off the top of their head.

Tim’s tip
When you view a venue, ask where the DJ usually sets up and where the nearest power socket is. It affects where the dance floor goes and how the tables can be laid out.

Common questions
How accurate is the capacity estimate?
It's a sensible guideline based on typical space-per-guest allowances for seated, buffet and dancefloor layouts, not a substitute for checking with your venue directly — always confirm their own maximum capacity too.
What's a good dancefloor size for my guest count?
As a rough guide, allow around 0.5 to 0.7 square metres of dancefloor per guest who'll realistically be dancing at once — the tool works out a recommended size based on your room and guest numbers.
What if my venue doesn't know its exact room dimensions?
Ask them to measure or check their own floor plan — most venues can also tell you a maximum capacity for different layouts, which is worth cross-checking against this tool's result.
