Tim Daymond, Tinsel Tim

Finding the right music for your wedding in King’s Lynn starts with one simple question: who will actually play? With me, the answer is always the same. I’m Tim Daymond, known on stage as Tinsel Tim, and I play every booking personally.

My DJ career began in 1976, and I founded Mobile Disco Network in 2013. So I bring fifty years of experience reading wedding crowds across West Norfolk and beyond.

Why Couples Choose Me as Their King’s Lynn Wedding DJ

Choosing a DJ means trusting someone with the most important celebration of your life. However, several simple facts help you decide with confidence.

  • It’s always me. So the person you meet is the person who plays your wedding.
  • Officially vetted. I’m Trading Standards Approved through Norfolk County Council, Trusted Trader ID 0000457.
  • Properly protected. You get a written contract, £10 million public liability insurance and PAT-tested equipment.
  • Locally recognised. I was a finalist for the King’s Lynn Mayor’s Award for Excellence in Customer Care two years running.
  • Spare equipment. I also bring a complete backup sound and lighting system to every event.

Being a Mayor’s Award finalist means a lot, because it reflects genuine customer feedback. Also, I’m a member of the NADJ and a lifelong music collector. As a result, I can play anything from seventies floor-fillers to this week’s chart.

Venues I Know as a King’s Lynn Wedding DJ

Of course, knowing the building matters as much as knowing the music. That’s because acoustics, power points and loading routes change from venue to venue.

The Dukes Head Hotel

This elegant hotel has a grand, historic ballroom with plenty of character. So I bring an elegant set-up that suits the room, with sound that fills it evenly.

King’s Lynn Town Hall

The Town Hall is a striking heritage building with a real sense of occasion. Therefore, I use tidy, freestanding lighting and clear sound that respects the space.

Village Halls and Community Centres

Many West Norfolk couples choose a village hall for a relaxed, personal party. In fact, local community centres can feel just as special with the right lights and music.

Some venues also fit a sound limiter. Still, I plan my set-up around it, so the music keeps going. My guide to wedding DJs and sound limiters explains how.

Your Whole Day, Covered

Many couples want music from the ceremony through to the last dance. So my all day packages cover every part of the day.

  • Ceremony: First, a discreet PA plays your entrance, signing and exit music.
  • Speeches: Radio microphones make sure every guest hears every word.
  • Wedding breakfast: Next, gentle background music keeps the conversation relaxed.
  • Evening party: Full disco sound and lighting, with your first dance as the centrepiece.
  • Photo fun: My vintage selfie pod takes digital photos that guests share instantly.

You plan the music in your own client portal, including a do-not-play list. Then, on the night, guests can request songs by QR code.

King’s Lynn Wedding DJ Questions

Why does Trading Standards approval matter?

Norfolk County Council checks my business practices, contracts and reliability. So you have independent proof before you pay a deposit.

Have you played the Dukes Head and the Town Hall?

Yes, I’ve played both many times. As a result, I already know their acoustics, power layouts and load-in routes.

Can we make our own playlist?

Absolutely. You build must-play and do-not-play lists in your portal, and I tailor the night to them.

What if equipment fails on the night?

I carry a full backup sound and lighting system to every event. In fifty years, I’ve never missed a performance.

Do you cover the whole wedding day?

Yes. My all day packages include ceremony music, radio microphones for speeches and the evening party.

How much is the deposit?

A 45% deposit secures your date. Then the balance is due four weeks before your wedding.

Can guests request songs on the night?

Yes. Guests simply scan a QR code and send their requests straight from their phones.

Will you play clean versions of songs?

Yes. My software cuts swearing out of tracks as they play, so families can relax.
