How to use the Secret Santa generator
- Name your Secret Santa, then set the spending limit and swap date.
- Type everyone's name, one per line, with a gift hint after a dash if you like.
- List any couples who should not buy for each other, then press Draw names.
- Send each person their own link with the WhatsApp, Copy link or Share button.

Secret Santa Generator: common questions
Can the organiser see who everyone got?
Not on screen. After the draw you only see each person's name and a button to send their link. Each link reveals just one match, so as long as you send the links without opening them, the draw stays secret from you too.
Do I need everyone's email address?
No. The tool never asks for email addresses. You send each person their link however suits your group, usually WhatsApp, but a text, Messenger or email works just as well.
How do I stop couples drawing each other?
Add each couple or household on its own line in step 3, such as Sarah & Tom. They will not be drawn for each other. Leave the swapping box ticked and nobody ends up simply exchanging presents with the person who drew them.
Is anything stored online?
No. Each link carries only that person's match inside it, and your list stays in your own browser so you can resend a link if someone loses theirs. Nothing is sent to Mobile Disco Network.
What if we need to draw again?
Press Draw again. Any links already sent from the old draw will no longer match, so send everyone their new link.
Tim’s tip
Set a firm spending limit and a swap date before you draw. In my experience a Secret Santa at the Christmas party works best with a £10 to £20 limit and presents handed out early, before the dancing starts.
