Guest book cards to fill a jar

Print guest book cards that guests fill in and drop in a jar. Swap the guest book for a jar full of cards: advice for the couple, wishes for the year ahead, date night ideas, predictions, favourite memories and song requests for the DJ — with a matching sign for the table.

Questions

Guest Book Card Maker: common questions

What is a guest book jar and who suits it?

Instead of one book that guests queue to sign, you leave a jar with a pile of cards and pens. Each card has a prompt, such as advice for the couple, a wish for the year ahead or a favourite memory. It suits weddings, milestone birthdays, anniversaries, retirements and baby showers, and quieter guests often find a prompt easier than a blank page.

How do I print the cards?

Download the PDF and print at Actual size or 100% on card that takes pen well; matt 200 to 250 gsm is ideal. A6 postcards fit four to an A4 sheet and A7 fit eight. Cut along the grey lines, set the cards by the jar with a few pens and add the optional A5 sign so guests know what to do.

Is my information stored or uploaded?

No. The names and wording you type are used only in your browser to draw the preview and build the PDF or JPG. The page does not send them anywhere and does not save them, so reloading the page resets everything. Download the finished PDF before you close the tab.

How many guest book cards should I print?

Plan on about one card per guest, plus a few spares for couples who want one each and for spoilt cards. Mixing card types keeps it interesting, for example some advice cards, some wishes and some song requests. Put the jar somewhere guests pass during the drinks reception rather than tucked in a corner.

Tim’s tip

If you include song request cards, empty those out of the jar and pass them to the DJ before the evening starts, not the next morning. I would much rather know about a request while there is still time to play it.
